The early years of a child’s life have a powerful impact on their later educational success. By providing high quality early years education we can ensure they are not just prepared for school but for their future as lifelong learners. If you are passionate about Early Years Education achieving Early Years Teacher Status will qualify you to work with children aged from 0-5 in Early Years settings such as Day Nurseries, Pre-Schools and Infant Schools.
The Early Years Teacher Status course is a one year full time placement based course with weekly training commitments.
Trainees attend sessions at The University of Greenwich on a weekly basis while on assessed placements at a range of Early Years Settings.
During the weekly training sessions at the University of Greenwich trainees cover a range of topics that will aid them in meeting the Early Years Teacher Standards. There is a strong commitment to the development of reflective qualities in practice. Throughout the course trainees complete three placements within a baby room setting, pre-school setting and school setting. Whilst on placements trainees are mentored by experienced and supportive practitioners and assessed on their ability to achieve the Early Years Teaching Standards.
